Yes, the information providers cover both private and public companies. Private company information is more limited since they are not compelled by regulations to report data but there are good sources of private company information nonetheless.

There are standard fields that are common to all companies across countries, such as their registration details and address information. However, the subsequent fields do differ in coverage and type across countries. And some data fields are completely optional, such as sanctions list checks which are only required in certain use cases. Oxpecker allows configuration of the requests to information providers to retrieve the information for your purpose.

The source of the various data fields depends on which data is being requested. Firmographic information is generally sourced from corporate registrar / Secretary of State sources and combined with data from tax authorities where available. Other data sources include, among others, company websites, filings, social media, and analyst research. Information on private companies is challenging to source when it has not been made publicly available and so a multitude of sources is needed to offer the most comprehensive information possible.

The general databases of information providers are updated on a daily basis as new information is received. However, a particular company may only be updated once a year or, in some cases, at even longer intervals. The dependency for updating specific company records depends on the public availability of the data changes.

Oxpecker returns a data object, and, where possible, a PDF. Both are provided by the original information provider - Oxpecker does not alter the information provided from the information providers. Oxpecker may in some cases alter the format of the data to ensure consistency across information providers.
